How GotMyNumber actually works.
Paste a UK number and we show what other people reported about calls from it, whether a business has proved the number is theirs, and where Ofcom issued the range. No bought directories, no guessing, no names of private people.

Paste a UK number
Type or paste the number that called you. No login, no app, nothing to install. A lookup is free and always will be.
Read what we know
You see what people reported about calls from the number, each counted once and dated; whether a business has proved it holds the line; and which phone company Ofcom gave the number range to. A private person is never named.
Report it, or claim your own
Flag a scam or nuisance call to warn the next person. If the number is yours, you will be able to claim it so people who look it up see it is yours; claiming isn’t open yet, and you can join the list to hear when it is.

A name only when it is proved
A business is shown by name only once it has proved it controls the line, so nobody can register a number under a name they have not earned. No badge does not mean a number is bad; most numbers have none.
Nothing scraped, no names
We do not buy or scrape directories. What we show comes from people's reports and Ofcom's public numbering data, and, once claiming opens, from businesses that prove their own number. We never put a private person's name against a number.
Free, no login, no pop-ups
No account needed. We never store your IP address; a one-way hash used to count people once is deleted after 31 days. The privacy policy sets out everything we hold, and why it is free has its own page.

We are working on a way to ask an unknown number who they are, without revealing your number and with an easy way for them to say no. It is not available yet; join the waitlist to hear when it is.
