No reports doesn’t mean safe.
An empty record means we have no reports to show. Nothing more, nothing less.
There are several reasons for an empty record.
A number might be new, rarely used, or simply unreported. Someone might have received a call and chosen not to report. The same empty result fits all of those situations.
Unknown is an honest answer.
GotMyNumber should never turn missing evidence into a safety score. We separate “no reports” from “reports unavailable”, so a service problem doesn’t look like reassurance.
No reports is a statement about this record. It is not a guarantee about the caller.
Use context and independent verification.
Consider whether you expected the contact. If the caller asks for money, codes or sensitive information, verify their claim through an independently trusted contact route.
Your experience adds the first piece.
A legitimate call is useful context too. A report should say what happened without naming private people or publishing their details.
